Lebone Centre Benefits from a District Grant
Children playing on the merry-go-round.
President Robyn Cooper hands over the District Grant to Lebone Centre Director, Jolene Tarr with some of the After Care and Enrichment (ACE) pupils who use the playground in the afternoons.
The Rotary Club of Grahamstown Sunset was thrilled to receive a District Grant again this year.
We applied for the grant to enable the Lebone Centre to install a second merry-go-round in their playground. With 28 preschoolers using the playground in the mornings, and 20 Grade 1-3 pupils who come for after care in the afternoons, there was a need to add to their playground equipment to occupy the children during free play. The children love spinning on the merry-go-rounds, and so the installation of another one has been a welcome addition. President Robyn Cooper handed over the grant to Lebone Centre Director, Jolene Tarr yesterday. The new merry-go-round has already been installed, and Jolene says it is put to good use by the children every single day!
